C.Truth
Straight Talker no chaser
www.ctruthonline.com
C.Truth began moving crowds through mix tapes, showcases and comedy shows. There he was
able to groom his style and eventually move on to larger venues. Some of the larger venues included
New York's SOB's, The Cutting Room, The Knitting Factory, Nuyourican Poets Café and The Point.
Once he successfully plateaued, C.Truth decided to strengthen his voice and educate a larger audience.
In this marriage of love and natural ability C.Truth found his home - RADIO. Despite his already charismatic
appeal and straight forward journalism practices, C.Truth learned the radio ropes by performing a myriad of
positions. Truth has taken on the positions of Program/ Music Director of Hunter College Radio, General
Manager & Treasurer of NY Radio Coalition, Music Editor for the online magazine BX Factor, Host & Moderator
of Sista Cypher forum, Contributing Writer to The Shield, judge of "She's my DJ" battle competition, host/anchor
of Channel Live TV, The Crazy Al Cayne Show and DJ for Top Dog /Under Dog Benefit.
One of C.Truth's defining career moments was when Thermal SoundWaves debuted on WHCR (90.3 fm) in
NYC. Established in 1995, this inventive and vibrant weekly program has strived to give all its listeners thought
provoking commentary on world topics and music. Variety is embraced during this live 3 hour show with a music
selection of Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, and Reggae. Thermal SoundWaves avant-garde play list unveils songs that would
not be heard on mainstream radio shows & stations, but has definite public interest.
"My on air mission is to play music that commercial radio overlooks in addition to what they do play", says C.Truth.
"I also like to play album cuts from established artists that would other wise not be heard."
In addition to music, C.Truth keeps balance by addressing social issues and occurrences that concern the urban
community. Guests include entertainers from all aspects of the business. Both signed and unsigned artists are
interviewed on the show and listeners are always encouraged to voice their opinions by calling, emailing and writing
in. Dubbed "The Natural Alternative to Fast Food Radio," Thermal SoundWaves provides your daily nutrients of
music, culture, and politics, all with an underlying soundtrack of timeless Hip-Hop, comedy, and fun. C.Truth has
since added another host; Kevin Lawrence. You never know what to expect from this duo with all of the improvisation
that takes place. However, quality entertainment is a given.
Over the years, C.Truth has interviewed a huge list of entertainers that include: poet Black Ice, Clifton Powell,
Charlie Murphy, Crazy Al Cayne, Dead Prez, Raekwon the Chef, Slum Village, Remy Ma, Roy Ayers, Dave Winfield,
Darrin Henson and Xzbit.
C.Truth aka Mr.Universal has many talents one of which is acting. He completed four plays, two independent movies
as well as an appearance on TV Land's Game Time last year alone. C.Truth was also a peer instructor through the DJ
Skills Program, a program devised to give high school students hands on experience at the art of deejaying. Writing
and producing are also under the umbrella.
"You can expect to see the Truth in everything entertainment"

Kev Lawrence aka Good Peoples
Kev Lawrence also known as "Good Peoples" got his first taste of the entertainment business as an A&R
administrative assistant for Hector Aviles at Def Jam which ended after many failed sneak in's and bad acting
as a messenger with important documents for music executives that most of the security caught on to. A year
and a few months later he took his contacts, skills and gift of gab with him to smaller production companies like
Urban Legends (which had the group "Lyric" signed as the first female R&B group under J records), Money Good
Ent (Oz Father- Hip Hop), M.A.D (Jus Rolle- Hip Hop) and Hitz 4 Life (Straws- Hip Hop). He also helped put shows
together for a few of these artists as well as Jae Millz (Universal/ Wanna Blow). Kev's main purpose was simply
to give artist as much promotion and exposure as possible. Also, to make sure that consumers and even non-
consumers understood that this is what you need to have in your: car, I-pod, CD player and club. His purpose
also included who you should have on television and in future movie roles.
Kev Lawrence ran a company of his own, Good Peoples Ent, while doing work with production companies. Good
Peoples Entertainment was a company specializing in comedy shows that supplied the unconscious demand for
comedians in stressed areas of the north east Bronx. Comedians were used from Comic View, Comedy Central,
other TV outlets, and movies. Good Peoples performed the role of breaking new comedians as well.
Kev soon hooked up with Uncle Ralph McDaniels of Video Music Box and was taken under his wing. Ralph gave
Kev the opportunity to be a VJ for the show and be a personal assistant. Kev was in studio at Coast 2 Coast
Countdown radio starring Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Deidra Love, J "Hot Dog" Jones and super producer Chris "In
the Mix" Mercado at Sirius Satellite Radio getting schooled on how to rock a radio show. Kev linked up with
C.Truth who was also at Sirius and became part of the team of "Thermal Soundwaves Radio," airing on WHCR
90.3 FM. Thermal Soundwaves is the natural alternative to fast food radio and one of the longest running radio
shows in NY. The show plays the hottest Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae from mainstream and unsigned artist; whether
its album cuts or just breaking new hot music you can count on the crew to give the listeners what they really want
and need. Interviews are conducted with those entire artists you hear on the show as well as music executives,
publicist, producers, adult film stars, magazine writers/editors, cops with "good advice" and anybody that is interesting
enough for the show. Listeners can be stars themselves as they kick it and have fun with the crew. From stars
like Freddy Jackson, Oz, Jus Rolle, John Doe, Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Soul Diggers, Rhymefest, Jim Jones,
Dream Hampton, Heather Hunter, Roy Ayers, Kid Capri, to Mona Scott, the
list is crazy and it goes on and on.
You can catch Kev Lawrence on WHCR 90.3 FM "Thermal Soundwaves Radio" Monday nights 12
midnight to 3 am eastern (9pm to 12 midnight pacific). You can also hear the show live online at:
